The Lax Kw’alaams Truth and Reconciliation Department invites all fluent Sm’algyax speakers to a full-day boat ride on April 21, 2026.
In partnership with Oots’n Reconnection Services, participants will spend the day speaking Sm’algyax while travelling through the waters of Prince Rupert. This initiative provides an opportunity to come together through language, culture, and community.
Event Details:
- Prince Rupert departure from Fairview 2 Dock at 8:30 a.m.
- Tuck Inlet departure at 9:00 a.m. sharp
- Carpooling to Tuck Inlet is encouraged
- Return to the dock at 4:00 p.m.
Lunch and light snacks will be provided.
