The repair to the ferry’s water pump was a success, and the ferry will be back to regular ferry service Friday May 17, 2024.*

The Spirit of Lax Kw’alaams will conduct a permanent repair to the ferry’s water pump, and will not run Thursday May 16, 2024. A barge and water taxi will run in lieu of the ferry sailing on Thursday only.

Departure times and location (barge and water taxi):

Amix group Terminal: 7am
Tuck Inlet: 9am

Amix group Terminal: 4pm*
Tuck Inlet: 6pm*

Amix Group Terminal barge is located at the end of Mish Aw Road (in the Prince Rupert industrial site). Vehicle passengers will load their vehicle here to the barge, and travel by water taxi, due to Transport Canada limitations. Ferry passengers can expect to pay regular ferry fares on May 16.

Crew requires the entire day on Thursday to make the repair and conduct sea trials. Regular ferry service is expected to run Friday May 17, 2024.
