Calling Lax Kw’alaams Members and allies
Tuesday April 28, 2026
Prince Rupert
8am – Breakfast at Civic Center
11am – Demonstration at Mariners Park
~12pm – Lunch at Curling Rink.
Kitselas First Nation is in the final stages of completing a treaty. BC is moving forward with Bill 21: Kitselas Treaty Act in Victoria. If passed, this legislation would make the Kitselas Treaty part of provincial law.
Lax Kw’alaams leadership continue to voice that the treaty impacts 90% of our territory, affecting all of our rights, title, and interests. This gathering is about standing up for our rights, our territories, and our responsibilities to future generations in a peaceful and respectful way.
We ask all members attending to:
- stand together with respect, unity, and care for one another
- follow the direction of organizers and volunteers
- keep the peace and avoid responding to confrontation or aggressive behaviour
- support Elders, youth, and families attending
- bring a chair if you may have difficulty standing for long periods
