Lax Kw’alaams Recreation invites community members to participate in the Pat Dudoward Memorial Fishing Derby happening June 12 to 18, 2026!

- Halibut & Salmon Categories (15+)
- Youth Category (14 & Under) — No ticket purchase required
Tickets: $25 each
Tickets can be purchased at the front desk of the Recreation Centre.
Ticket Holder Prizes
1st Place — $1,000
2nd Place — $500
3rd Place — $250
Youth Rockfish Prizes
1st Place — $100
2nd Place — $75
3rd Place — $50
Plus a chance to win door prizes!
Rules & Regulations:
• All fish must be caught within the derby dates and ticket purchased before weigh-in
• All fish must be caught with a rod & reel only
• Only one fish can be weighed in per ticket
• Weigh-ins start daily at 10:00 AM
• Last weigh-in is at 10:00 PM (8:00 PM on the final day)
• Only dressed fish (head & tails on) will be weighed
• Winners must be present to claim prizes
Community members are encouraged to participate and enjoy a week of fishing and friendly competition.
