Notice of Referendum on April 9, 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Lax Kw’alaams First Nation has called a referendum, by at least 60% of voters who vote in the referendum, to approve and implement the proposed Da’ax Kw’alaams Man-Ayaawx Constitution of the Lax Kw’alaams First Nation, in accordance with Lax Kw’alaams’ inherent right to self-determination and self-government. Please see www.laxkwalaams.ca for a copy of the Constitution.

Time: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Location: Auditorium, Jim Ciccone Civic Center, 1000 McBride Street, Prince Rupert, BC, V8J 3H2
Membership and Community Constitution Referendum Forums:
● Virtual Session on March 26, 2025;
● Virtual Session on March 27, 2025;
● March 29, 2024 in-person in Lax Kw’alaams, BC; and
● March 30, 2025 in-person in Prince Rupert, BC.
Online Voting:
If you registered to vote online for previous Lax Kw’alaams online voting processes, you are registered for the 2025 Constitution referendum. Constitution Referendum Forum information and link to the voting platform will be made available to members at https://www.onefeather.ca/nations/laxkwalaams on March 12, 2025. Registration for online voting will open March 12, 2025, and remain open until voting closes. Online voting opens April 4, 2025 and closes April 9, 2025 at 8:00 PM.
