Lax Kw’alaam’s Fisheries will be finishing the series of workshops about marine mammals within the Lax Kw’alaams Band traditional and territorial waters with a celebration and feast.

 Lax Kw’alaams fisheries have been conducting workshops and community engagement sessions to build on prior desktop research on the science of marine mammals within Lax Kw’alaams Bands Traditional Territorial Waters. This knowledge will be used by Lax Kw’alaams fisheries to complete a summary report documenting Lax Kw’alaams Elders, harvesters, and community members’ knowledge of marine mammals and impacts and threats to marine mammals and other species from shipping and other activities.

What will we be doing:

1)      Community engagement questionnaires (Anonymous)
2)     Traditional Dancers will perform
3)     Feast for 50 people (Registration mandatory) 
a.     Clam and Corn Chowder and Fry Bread
b.     Garden Salad
c.      Crab
d.     Shrimp
e.     Smoked Salmon and crackers
f.      Potatoes with Eulachon grease
g.     Barbeque seal 
h.     Fresh fruit and juice
