As you may know, Lax Kw’alaams launched the Amlahaw Peoples’ Voices initiative in June 2022 to support and listen to the powerful voices of Lax Kw’alaams membership on developing a constitution through governance education, communications and engagement efforts. The term Amlahaw means “peoples’ voices” and is inspired by the many unique and knowledgeable voices of our ancestors, elders, traditional leaders, and all our people.

Between June 2022 to April 2023, Lax Kw’alaams members contributed their valuable input on Lax Kw’alaams constitutional development. Our engagement team gathered input from members through the Lax Kw’alaams Constitutional Development Survey (see Appendix A), Lax Kw’alaams Constitutional Development Engagements, and individual interviews.

We have completed the workshops, however there is still opportunity to get us your input. This video shares a virtual version of our constitutional development workshop format – please follow along with the video and write your responses to the activities – please send us your responses to [email protected] by April 5th, 2023.
