On behalf of Mayor & Council, we would like to thank all Lax Kw’alaams members that took the opportunity to vote in yesterday’s Land Referendum.

The land referendum was supported by a majority of eligible voters. This means the Band will now proceed to the next stages of development of the 20 housing units with BC Housing Corporation.

Official Results are as follows:

258 Ballots Cast

• 220 ballots -Yes
• 29 ballots – No

• 7 ballots – Not accepted/No declaration forms
• 2 ballots – Spoiled
