Lax Kw’alaams is updating the existing Land and Marine Resources Plan (“the Plan”), which was adopted in 2004. The Plan is one of the main tools used to communicate the Nation’s vision for the traditional territory and to communicate that vision to project proponents and government agencies. The Plan is intended to provide a vision for the next 10 years and is designed to be a living document that is updated every 10-15 years.

The Land Use Plan is a policy document that guides how land resources are used, managed and protected for future generations. Everyone has a collective responsibility to ensure that we sustain the abundant land and sea resources that have sustained Lax Kw’alaams people for countless generations.

Lax Kw’alaams is seeking input from its community members on a variety of topics related to the Land and Resources Plan update currently underway. It would be greatly appreciated if you could respond to the following survey and provide us with some information on your experiences and vision for the future of Lax Kw’alaams traditional
territory.

Surveys will be available from February 26, 2021 to March 31, 2021. Surveys will be made available in hard copy at the band office and online at:
