Below is a link to download the Lax Kw’alaams Fishing Enterprises LP application Halibut Quota Lease 2023. You may also pick up paper copies at the Lax Kw’alaams Band office or Lax Kw’alaams Business Development in Prince Rupert.

This application must be completed, along with a letter of intent (template included in the document) to Bill Shepert, Fisheries Resource Manager for the Lax Kw’alaams Band. The deadline to submit this application is Friday April 28, 2023 at 1pm.

This program is intended for Lax Kw’alaams Band members, who currently own or lease a vessel, in their name.

For this intake, only fishermen that had the halibut quota only once are eligible to apply this year. LKFE aims to be fair to all fishermen, as a majority of fishers have had it twice.

The purpose of this PICFI program is to provide access to halibut quota for Lax Kw’alaams fishers, to keep fishermen active in the fishing industry.
