We are pleased to share that the clean-up of the marine and land areas affected by the spill at Green Island Lighthouse is now complete.

There is currently no visible sheen on the rocks, in the intertidal zone, or on the surface of the sea.

Over the next two weeks, Response teams will be conducting biological sampling of seabirds, gull eggs, sediment, water, fucus, seaweed, and invertebrates.

Once the test results are available, we will provide an update with a recommendation on whether to maintain or lift the harvest exclusion zone.
