Facilitator Wanted – Cedar Workshops

The Lax Kw’alaams Recreation Department and Brighter Futures are looking for a knowledgeable facilitator to lead Cedar Workshops for community members.

Workshops may include:
• Traditional cedar harvesting
• Basket weaving
• Traditional cedar hat weaving
• Cedar bracelet making

These hands-on workshops aim to preserve and share traditional cedar teachings, cultural knowledge, and weaving skills while fostering respect for the land and cultural practices.

Qualities needed:
• Knowledge of cedar harvesting and traditional uses
• Experience teaching and guiding others
• Respect for cultural teachings and the land
• Strong communication skills and a community-minded approach

📌 Facilitators must have their own harvesting equipment.

When submitting a bid, please include the following information:
• Experience with cedar harvesting
• Experience facilitating weaving classes
• Date of your most recent criminal record check
