Lax Kw’alaams is seeking a Casual Personal Care Aide

If you are a licences Care Aide and would love to work in our beautiful Community and Health Centre, we want to hear from you.

Duties

Individualized home care includes, but not limited to:
• Monitor blood pressure, vital signs, blood glucose and other physical conditions as required and designated by the HCN
• Provides holistic personal care to clients (e.g. Personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, nail care, dressing and grooming)
• Transfers and transports clients as needed.
• Meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care
• Monitor supplies and resources/coordinate case management
• Coordinate appropriate care and equipment including other community resources as required
• Provide information to other health care professionals as required
• Complete accurate charting in a timely manner
• Encourage and educate clients and families to be involved in the community health care programs
• Advocate on behalf of clients for additional services and resources
• Attending and participating in Team meetings, work well with others
• Provides professional and friendly service at all times

Requirements
• Minimum Grade 12
• Must have Personal Care Aide Certification
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred
• Minimum one year PCA work experience
• Food Safe certificate
• Must have and maintain a valid BC drivers’ licence
• Successful criminal record check
