Notice to all Lax Kw’alaams Members

Effective June 15,2021

The approved corridor is now all of BC.  Lax Kw’alaams Members living within the approved corridor, may now travel Vaccinated or Unvaccinated to Lax Kw’alaams.

All of BC will be our approved corridor as per BC Provincial Guidelines, and if there are any changes with BC Provincial Guidelines then the EMC will follow suit.

No quarantine will be necessary upon return as long as you are within the corridor.

Patient Travel residents that have been vaccinated, may travel for medical appointments and treatments outside BC, outside the corridor, as long as they return immediately from their appointment, they do NOT need to quarantine.

Essential Workers & Visitors

  • Essential workers/specific contractors and visitors within BC are authorized to enter the community.  Essential workers/specific contractors outside the corridor will need to contact the CAO to get permission to enter Lax Kw’alaams.

Committee Overview

The Lax Kw’aaams EMC continues to monitor the current situation in both the Northern Region, as well as throughout the Province of BC.  If the variant starts moving west from Prince George, the EMC will immediately reconvene to decide on the next steps.

Even though you have been vaccinated it is imperative to wear your mask at all times and sanitize your hands at every opportunity.  Masks are still to be worn in all public buildings in community and out.

Important Reminders

  • We are encouraging all members to not travel if you do not have to.
  • The Food Bus will no longer operate at this time.
  • Any resident that has not been vaccinated yet but, wishes to be, can contact the vaccination line 250-622-6380 to make an appointment.
