Participants receive a $50-per-day living allowance.

Training is held at K5T, located at 4404 Queensway Drive in Terrace.

All training costs are covered for members of the funded First Nations, including Lax Kw’alaams. Transportation and accommodations are also funded, and additional barrier supports may be available.

Individuals from other First Nations are also encouraged to inquire, as K5T may be able to locate additional funding.

The veterinary team from the Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) is coming back to Lax Kw’alaams from August 22–24, 2026, to provide free veterinary services for pets living in the community.

The clinic will accommodate up to 60 surgeries and 50 exam and vaccination appointments.

• Surgery appointments are now FULL. A waitlist is available, and the team will do their best to assist all pet owners.

To pre-register your pet, please call 250-625-3293 ext. 3006.

Please note: This clinic is only for pets living in Lax Kw’alaams.

We appreciate the continued support of the Canadian Animal Assistance Team in helping provide accessible veterinary care for our community’s pets.
