  • A chance to learn the basics of archaeology and Lax Kw’alaams Cultural Heritage Policies 
  • This training is provided in partnership with Roy Northern Environmental, and the Lax Kw’alaams Lands, Resources and Stewardship department 

Learn About:

  • Why archaeologists measure and record ancient artifacts 
  • Where collected artifacts go 
  • The basics of how to identify culturally modified trees, remnants of ancient village sites and stone and bone tools 
  • Lax Kw’alaams Cultural Heritage policies regarding the treatment of archaeology sites 
  • What is required if unanticipated artifacts are discovered during development

 This short course is a mandatory requirement for participation in the Guardian Program.
