Training and employment opportunities – Lax Kw’alaams

NVIT is delivering Aboriginal ECE in Lax Kw’alaams, scheduled for January 3, 2023. This is a 12 month program. Successful graduates will be eligible for local employment.

Lax Kw’alaams is building a new daycare facility, that will offer 8-10 new employment opportunities.

This program will meet the education requirements for employment. The rate of pay will range from $22-$24 per hour, depending on position.

Aboriginal ECE Program Requirements

Grade 12 diploma or mature status (19 years of age), including English 12 or an equivalent course
40 hours of volunteer and/or work experience, under the supervision of an ECE worker and in a private setting working with children (see Lisa Green for assistance with obtaining these hours)
Medical Reference & Immunization Record form
A professional letter of reference from someone working in a childcare or education field
Criminal record check
