NVIT is offering a cohort training program for Aboriginal ECE in Lax Kw’alaams. The program is
scheduled for January 3, 2022. Successful graduates will be eligible for local employment.

Program requirements

Grade 12 diploma or mature status (19 years of age), including English
12 or an equivalent course

40 hours of volunteer and/or work experience, under the supervision of
an ECE worker and in a private setting working with children (see Lisa
Green for assistance with obtaining these hours)

Medical Reference form

Immunization Record form

A professional letter of reference from an individual working in the
childcare or education field

Criminal record check is required once admitted into the program

Lax Kw’alaams is building a new Daycare facility. The facility will
provide new employment opportunities for 8-10 people.

This training program will meet the education qualifications for
employment. The rate of pay will range from $22-$24 per hour
depending on the position.
