As part of the Building Stronger Communities initiative, one percent of Britco’s corporate profits are directly donated back to the communities they do business in. Britco is one of a few companies in Canada that have taken this one percent challenge, and as a result, they have recently been acknowledged by the BC Business Council as one of the most charitable companies in BC.
Today, they are happy to share that once again they are partnering with Indspire to fund 25 scholarships to support post-secondary education for Aboriginal students across Canada.
This year, for the first time, Britco will be providing one of those 25 scholarships ($1,750) to each of their jobs training and business partners. This means that at least one student from our community will be selected for this scholarship (pending the Indspire application requirements).
The Britco Scholarship for Indigenous Students Award recognizes Indigenous students who demonstrate outstanding personal and academic achievement pursuing post-secondary education. Student applicants will be assessed on such factors as leadership, academic record, community involvement and financial need.
